EXIF Viewer and Metadata Stripper
Photos often carry hidden data: the camera that took them, the date and time, and sometimes the exact location. See that data first, then remove only what you choose — or strip it all — before you share a photo. Choose up to 20 images. Each cleaned file gets its own Download button, or tap Download all as ZIP to save the whole batch at once. Everything runs in your browser. No upload, no signup.
Choose images first. Their metadata will appear below, grouped by camera, date, location and other data.
If you tick every box, the metadata block is cut out of the file exactly, so your photo pixels are untouched. If you keep some metadata, the file is rebuilt with only the kept fields — the pixels are still untouched, but the small embedded thumbnail inside the metadata is removed. Cleaning never changes the photo itself, and it never adds any ImageTool.us data to your file.

Nothing is downloaded automatically: tap a Download button, or Download all as ZIP, to save. The ZIP stores the cleaned files as they are, without recompressing them.
How EXIF viewing and stripping works
- Choose up to 20 images. The metadata found in each one appears below, grouped by camera, date, location and other data. If a photo has no readable metadata, that is stated plainly.
- Tick the boxes for the data you want removed, and untick anything you want to keep. Then click Clean batch. Each cleaned file gets its own Download button — or tap Download all as ZIP to save the whole batch at once. Nothing is downloaded automatically.
- After cleaning, each file is read again and the remaining metadata is shown, so you can verify the result before you share it. If you chose to remove everything, the after-cleaning check should show no fields at all.
Frequently asked questions
What is EXIF data?
EXIF is a block of information stored inside a photo file, usually by the camera or phone that took it. It can include the camera model, lens, exposure settings, date and time, and GPS coordinates. It is not visible in the picture itself, which is why it is easy to share by accident.
Does cleaning change my photo?
No. Cleaning only edits or removes the metadata block. The photo pixels are not recompressed, resized or recolored, so the cleaned file looks exactly like the original.
Which formats are supported?
JPEG and PNG. JPEG files carry EXIF data, and PNG files can carry an EXIF block and text blocks. For other formats, such as WebP, GIF or AVIF, metadata reading and stripping are not built yet, so those files are reported as unsupported and are not included in the cleaned batch.
Can cleaning be undone?
No. The cleaned file does not contain the removed data, so keep your original photos if you may need that data later — for example, the date a photo was taken.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Reading, cleaning and ZIP building all run on your device, in your browser.
