Your photo — tap to pick a color
How to pick a color from an image
- Choose a photo, or drag and drop it above.
- Tap (or click) the exact spot whose color you want — the marker shows the pixel you picked.
- Copy the HEX code for websites and design tools, or RGB / HSL if your tool asks for those.
- Pick more spots to build a palette, then tap Download Palette to save all your picked colors as a text file.
What do HEX, RGB and HSL mean?
HEX is the six-digit code websites use, like #2A7FFF. RGB is the same color written as red, green and blue amounts from 0 to 255. HSL describes it as hue, saturation and lightness, which is handy when you want a lighter or darker version of the same color. This tool shows all three for the same pixel, so you can paste whichever format your app expects.
Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Picking runs on your device, in your browser. The photo never leaves your phone or computer.
Is the picked color exact?
Yes — it is the exact pixel under your tap, read from the original image. Note that a photo's pixels vary slightly from spot to spot (especially in compressed JPGs), so tapping a millimetre away can give a slightly different shade. That is the real pixel, not an average.
What about transparent pixels in a PNG?
If you tap a fully or partly transparent pixel, the result shows its RGBA value, including the transparency amount, so you can see it is not a solid color.
Does this tool change my photo?
No. It only reads colors. Your original file is untouched, and no edited image is created — the only file you can download is the optional palette text file with your picked codes.
