Center crop for now — the 35 x 45 frame is cut from the center of the image. Output is a JPG. This tool only fixes the size and ratio; it does not change the background, lighting, or face position, so start from a plain-background, front-facing photo and check your authority's photo rules before submitting.

How to make a passport size photo

  1. Choose a photo, or drag and drop it above.
  2. Pick an output size — 413 x 531 px for printing, 350 x 450 px for most online forms.
  3. Click Make Passport Photo. The result is a JPG in the 35 x 45 ratio — tap Download below to save it.

What size is a passport photo?

The standard passport photo is 35 mm wide and 45 mm tall (about 1.38 x 1.77 inches). At the usual print resolution of 300 DPI that is 413 x 531 pixels. Many online application forms ask for the same ratio at 350 x 450 pixels. Both sizes use the same 35:45 frame, so one crop works for either — only the pixel count differs.

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Cropping runs on your device, in your browser.

Can I move the frame to my face?

This version cuts the frame from the center. A drag-to-position frame is planned as the next upgrade — for now, use a photo where your face is already centered.

Does this guarantee my photo will be accepted?

No tool can guarantee that. Authorities also check background, lighting, expression, and how recent the photo is. This tool only guarantees the 35 x 45 size and ratio — always check your authority's photo rules before submitting.
