Output: exactly 600 x 600 px, JPG.

Center crop for now — a square is cut from the center of the image, then resized to 600 x 600 px. Nothing is stretched. If your photo is smaller than 600 px on a side, it is enlarged to 600 px, which does not add detail.

Why 600 x 600?

600 x 600 pixels is a square size widely used for profile pictures, forum avatars and small square listing images — big enough to look sharp on phones, small enough to keep the file light. It sits between the 512 x 512 avatar size and the 1000 x 1000 product-photo size, so it works well when a site asks for a square image larger than an avatar but smaller than a full product photo. It also works as a WhatsApp or Facebook profile picture, a forum avatar, or a small square listing image.

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Resizing runs on your device, in your browser.

Will my photo be stretched?

No. A square is cut from the center first, then resized — so a wide photo loses its left and right edges and a tall photo loses its top and bottom. If your subject is off-center, crop it to a square first.

What if my photo is smaller than 600 px?

It is enlarged to 600 x 600 px. Enlarging does not add detail, so a very small original will still look soft — it just meets the size requirement.
